Hell

Hell is a place of eternal torment that cannot be fully comprehended by the human mind. It is NOT to be taken lightly since it REALLY exists!

Today, in this modern age of computers, tablets and cellular phones, for the most part, Hell is considered to be a fictitious place. It is used very glibly as a swear word. Others consider it to be part of ‘scare tactics’ used by fanatical preachers in order to garner converts.

Surprisingly, the person who talks the most about Hell in the Bible is the Lord Jesus Christ himself.

Mark 9:43-48 (Jesus Speaking)

43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:  44 Where THEIR WORM DIETH NOT, AND THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED. 45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:  46 Where THEIR WORM DIETH NOT, AND THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED. 47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: 48 Where THEIR WORM DIETH NOT, AND THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED.

Now if you look at verses 44, 46 and 48. They are exactly the same! This means that they are not to be taken lightly.

So what exactly happens when you die? Well for the God fearing person, who was saved through grace by the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, they are greeted by God’s angels and taken to God’s kingdom.

However, for the person who never had time for God and disrespected the salvation work of Jesus, the experience will be totally different. As your physical body ceases to operate, you suddenly become conscious of your spirit body, and your soul. Initially, your spirit body will be an exact copy of your physical body, but all the operating senses that you had at death now have a much more heightened capability.

But, one second after death, you realize that something is terribly wrong. You are plunged into darkness so thick that it seems to have a weight of its own. Simultaneously you feel the presence of such evil that a shroud of fear grips every fiber of your being. It is like sharpened ice chills that go to your very core. You then feel like very tight bands being placed around your head and your chest.

Then there is the jerk. Your descent then begins, your descent into Hell. As you descend, you become aware that others are being dragged down as well. It feels like that dream that you may have had as a child, when you were just falling and falling. But in this case, there will be no waking up. The screams of others start to pierce your mind to the point that it becomes painful.
Moreover, you start to realize that as you go further, it starts to get hotter and hotter. To the point where the very oxygen in your lungs ignites and you start to realize that your lungs are glowing orange. With this you start to struggle just to breathe. (The description above of death is based on a personal simulation that I had one night.)

Isaiah 33:10-13

10 Now will I rise, saith the Lord; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself. 11 Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath, as fire, shall devour you. 12 And the people shall be as the burnings of lime: as thorns cut up shall they be burned in the fire. 13 Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.

The Time to accept Jesus is NOW! At this point, before I continue, if you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, you really need to urgently repent, because once you reach hell, there is no turning back, there is no more redemption, there is no more forgiveness of sins.

Matthew 5:8 (Jesus Speaking)

8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Another tragedy for the unsaved is that they will never get to see God the Father. They simply will not be allowed to get close to him. So not only will they be in torment for all eternity, but they will never get to see where they really came from.
